Groupe Custeau buys Estudiantine
The Housing Solidarity Cooperative L’Estudiantine becomes Le Montagnais – Campus Centro. The student residences were purchased by a subsidiary of Groupe Custeau, CDI Habitation inc.
The Custeau Group also announced that the buildings at 121 Depot Street and 118 Wellington Street South will be renovated to meet the specific needs of students. Renovation works include the 119 rooms. The development of common areas, study rooms, entertainment areas and a training room is also planned.
“The Montagnais – Campus Centro will respond to the lifestyle of students who are looking for student residences adapted to their needs while enjoying the vitality of downtown Sherbrooke,” said Charles Custeau, president of Groupe Custeau and CDI Habitation by way of communicated.
“Our investment in this project located in the heart of the Quartier Well Sud will improve the rental offer in downtown Sherbrooke and contribute to its revitalization,” he added. A spokesperson for CDI Habitation inc. has confirmed to La Tribune that the apartments will keep their student vocation despite the arrival of the Quartier Well Sud.
The deal was completed on Friday and renovations will begin soon.
