A first win for the Gaiters since 2017
The Bishop’s University Gaiters (1-1) won their first game in 2019 at 32-19 when they defeated the X-Men St-Francis-Xavier (0-1) on Saturday night. the synthetic Coulter Field. But more importantly, Bishop’s won a game for the first time since September 15, 2017.
B ishop’s had won just one game in their first season in the Maritimes in 2017, a 32-31 victory in second overtime against Mount Allison.
On Saturday night, freshman quarterback Charles Aubry rewarded his coaches, who gave him the ball as a starter, in his second game only at college football.
Aubry was brilliant, with 27 completions in 37 attempts for 264 yards and three touchdowns.
He also used his legs to score a major, in addition to raking 61 yards.
Another freshman, receiver Nathan Lupien, also contributed to the offensive success of his team, with a touchdown and 78 yards of profit.
Nathan Walker and Corey Williams also captured touchdown passes.
The Mauves’ attack demonstrated a vitality that had not been seen for a long time, with an offensive production of 433 yards.
